Job summary

Gi Group are recruiting an experienced Vehicle Smart Repair Technician for our Grimsby site. This hands-on role offers 6:00am–6:00pm shifts, 4 on/4 off, with a temporary-to-permanent contract after 12 weeks for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will perform SMART repairs to a high standard, including paintwork, bumpers, scuffs and minor dents, with accurate colour matching and blending while adhering to site safety and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in SMART repair is required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Held for at least 2 years.
• Must be 22 years of age or over (insurance requirement).
• Ideally 0 points / no endorsements
• Up to 3 points may be accepted depending on the endorsement code.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.
• Reliable and able to commit to 12-hour shifts on a 4 on / 4 off rotation.

Responsibilities

• Completing SMART repairs to a high standard (paintwork, bumpers, scuffs, scratches, minor dents, alloy wheel repairs where applicable).
• Preparing panels and surfaces ready for repair/paint.
• Colour matching and blending to achieve a quality finish.
• Working to site processes, health & safety standards, and productivity targets.
• Reporting any additional damage/rectification required.
