As a Vehicle and Plant Technician, your work is an integral part of maintaining our extensive and diverse fleet, including the essential vehicle maintenance for Highways, street lighting, travel care and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. Your timely and cost-effective repairs will keep Lancashire's front-line services moving efficiently, ensuring our communities remain safe and connected.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and preparations for MOT testing.
  • Repairing and maintaining a wide range of vehicles and plant.
  • Conducting diagnostic fault finding using a range of up-to-date tools & equipment.


What we're looking for:

  • You'll hold an NVQ Level 3 in a relevant engineering discipline and full UK category B driving licence. It would be beneficial if you held a heavy vehicle maintenance qualification and a category C+E or D+E driving licence.
  • You'll have experience repairing and maintain vehicles including electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • You'll be a great communicator with the ability to mentor apprentices and junior members in the team.
