  • Maintain inventory levels through monitoring stock and conducting audits.
  • Use point-of-sale systems to process transactions and manage customer accounts.
  • Provide technical advice and pricing information to customers.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally.
  • Participate in training sessions for product knowledge and customer service skills.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join Drive Vauxhall Ipswich as a Vehicle Parts Advisor Apprentice. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to learn about vehicle parts management and customer service within the automotive industry. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, the apprentice will develop essential skills and knowledge to excel as a parts advisor. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about automobiles, with an interest in parts identification, inventory management, and providing excellent customer support.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Identify and locate automotive parts using electronic catalogs, manuals, and computer systems.
  2. Assist customers in-person, over the phone, and via email with their parts requirements and inquiries.
  3. Collaborate with service technicians and mechanics to ensure accurate parts ordering and timely delivery.
  4. Receive, inspect, and organize incoming parts shipments, ensuring accuracy and quality control.
  5. Maintain inventory levels through monitoring stock, conducting audits, and placing replenishment orders.
  6. Use point-of-sale systems to process transactions, generate invoices, and manage customer accounts.
  7. Provide product recommendations, technical advice, and pricing information to customers.
  8. Handle customer complaints professionally, aiming for satisfactory resolutions.
  9. Follow company policies regarding parts sales, returns, and exchanges.
  10. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
Working Week:

Typically 40 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with approximately 20% dedicated to 'off-the-job' training, including online and face-to-face learning at Coventry.

Development and Future Prospects:

All apprentices are employed through the Dealer Network and attend training in Coventry. The program includes block training, coaching visits, virtual classroom sessions, and e-learning. Successful completion provides a recognized qualification and opportunities for career advancement within the dealer network.
