The role

As a Vehicle Paint Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join Babcock’s Vehicle Engineering division as a key member of the production team, working as a Vehicle Paint Technician.

Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for preparing and painting automotive components as well as complete vehicles to a high standard. You’ll also:

  • Prepare components for final paint finish
  • Full vehicle re-sprays
  • Fault finding and rectification of paint defects.
  • Responsible for cleaning of spray guns, mixing room and spray booths
  • Prepare vehicles fully before painting to include masking, sanding and other necessary preparation work

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Walsall. Typically working 7am-4pm Monday – Thursday and 7am-1pm Friday (early finish every Friday)

Essential experience of the Vehicle Paint Technician:

  • Knowledge of water based / solvent paints, painting techniques and tools
  • Proven experience in automotive refinishing industry
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of engineering industrial standards
  • Ability to follow paint processes along with mixing fillers, primers and paint
