Job summary

Resource Management Solutions is seeking a Vehicle Paint Technician for a newly refurbished workshop in North Killingholme, England. The role involves prepping and repairing vehicle Paints to SMART standards, masking, sanding, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Ideal candidates will have an NVQ in Vehicle Spraying or equivalent, at least 2 years of experience, and a valid license with minimal points.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Vehicle spraying or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in vehicle paint spraying.
• Must pass skills test on colour matching, paint rectification and touch-up work with water and solvent-based materials.
• Valid driver's license with <6 penalty points and no DR10 offences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and carry out vehicle paint repairs.
• Paint to manufacturers' standards using SMART techniques.
• Remove/fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals.
• Apply finishing materials and perform masking and sanding.
• Prepare substrate for refinishing and carry out colour matching.
• Inspect paint and trim work for proper repair procedures.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.

Job description

We are thrilled to announce exciting new positions for skilled Vehicle Paint Technicians in a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art workshop. If you’re passionate about precision, quality, and craftsmanship, we would love to hear from you!

• Location: Killingholme (DN40)
• Contract: Permanent Contract
• Salary: £21.00 per hour.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Shift Rotations 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

About the role?

Working under the supervision and co‑ordination of the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out any necessary minor paint work repairs using small, medium area repair technology (SMART) to ensure vehicles are in pristine condition prior to dispatch and that all vehicles comply with company standards and health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities of the Role:

• To prepare and carry out any necessary paint repairs.
• To ensure that all vehicles are painted to the manufacturers required standard using appropriate repair techniques (SMART)
• To ensure materials are used within the manufacturer’s instruction and minimal usage for effective repair.
• To remove and replace / Fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals.
• To apply finishing materials, water and solvency based materials.
• To carry out masking and sanding procedures.
• To prepare substrate for refinishing
• To apply colour matching techniques and to carry out paint rectification and touch up work.
• To carry out buffering and burnishing.
• To inspect paint and trim work to ascertain recommended repair procedures.
• To ensure health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
• To undertake any other duties as directed commensurate with the level of the job function.

About you?

• To be successful, you must be over 22 years old, possess a valid driver’s license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
• The ideal candidate will have a NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle spraying or similar.
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in vehicle paint spraying.
• The ideal candidate will be required to pass a skills test where they will be tested on Colour Matching Techniques, Paint rectification and touch up work using both Water and Solvency based materials.
