Job summary

Babcock is hiring a Vehicle Mechanic for locations in Leconfield, Catterick and Newcastle. You will maintain and repair vehicles supporting armed forces and emergency services, including road tests and diagnostics. The role is full-time, permanent, at 37 hours/week with potential overtime and a relocation package may be available.

Security checks (SC) are a condition of employment. Applicants should have NVQ3/City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance, and may need BPSS/SC clearance.

• Preferred: Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment
• Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be part of a skilled and dedicated team maintaining and repairing the vehicles that support our armed forces and emergency services. From quad bikes to battle tanks, your work will directly contribute to national defence and public safety making this a career with real purpose and impact.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Catterick, Leconfield or Newcastle. You’ll work 37 hours per week: Monday–Thursday (8 hours/day) and Friday (5 hours), with opportunities for overtime. Set working times are in place. A relocation package may be available, subject to eligibility.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
