Babcock is recruiting Vehicle Mechanic positions at Leconfield, Catterick or Newcastle, near Beverley, North Yorkshire. You will maintain and repair vehicles supporting the armed forces and emergency services, from quad bikes to battle tanks, ensuring safety and readiness.

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled and dedicated team maintaining and repairing the vehicles that support our armed forces and emergency services. This is a full-time, permanent role based at Catterick, Leconfield or Newcastle. You'll work 37 hours per week: Monday-Thursday (8 hours/day) and Friday (5 hours), with opportunities for overtime. Set working times are in place. A relocation package may be available, subject to eligibility.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

What do I need?

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance
• Preferred: Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment
• Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance
• Ability to conduct road tests and complete technical documentation
• Strong commitment to safety and precision
• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
• Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, inspection, and repair
• Ability to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
