Job summary

Babcock International Group seeks experienced Vehicle Mechanics for multiple permanent positions across the UK. You will diagnose, service and repair a range of military and civilian vehicles, using supplied tools and adhering to safety and certification standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Experience diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicle faults.
• Ability to complete vehicle documentation and test certification.
• Experience with military and civilian vehicles is advantageous.

Day-to-day, you'll:

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain military and civilian vehicles
• Conduct inspections and assess vehicle condition and performance
• Carry out mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding activities
• Complete testing, road testing and vehicle certification documentation
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required standards

No two days are the same. You'll work on a diverse range of vehicles while developing specialist skills and gaining experience rarely found elsewhere in the automotive industry.

What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally hold one of the following:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
• BTEC Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Technology
• Class 1 REME Vehicle Mechanic qualification

You will also have:

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Mechanical Technician
• Experience diagnosing, inspecting and assessing vehicle faults
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing and repair practices
• The ability to complete vehicle documentation and test certification accurately

Experience gained within dealerships, commercial vehicle workshops, local garages, fleet maintenance environments, military vehicle maintenance or Armed Forces engineering backgrounds is highly desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
