Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
The purpose of the role is to assist with the smooth running of vehicles and plant machinery within SRC Group and maintain plant equipment to a high standard.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Responsible to: Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for: None
  • Liaison with: Managers, Employees

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAIN TASKS OF JOB:

  • Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on company vehicles.
  • Service and maintain SRC fleet of vehicles.
  • Diagnose issues with vehicles.
  • Conduct inspections and identify necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Assemble vehicle components as needed.
  • Utilise power and hand tools to complete repairs.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance, repair work, and installations are carried out as per instructions from Maintenance Manager.
  • Fault find mechanical faults and repair equipment in breakdown situations.
  • Ensure parts and equipment availability prior to maintenance or repair work.
  • Report or repair any Service equipment requiring remedial work that may affect operations.
  • Complete accurate records for all work using Service and Inspection schedules.
  • Identify and maintain tools and equipment as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain issued Personal Protection Equipment in a safe and hygienic condition and use it throughout duties.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
  • Comply with the company’s Factory Production Control Manual in support of SRC Quality Objectives.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and practices, reporting issues appropriately.
  • Perform duties as directed by the Manager.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must have Level 3 NVQ in light vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
  • Enthusiastic, committed, and a fast learner with experience in a busy environment.
  • Health and Safety trained or working towards it.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to take instruction.
  • Ability to work with individuals across departments.
  • Experience working with vehicles.
  • Welding experience.
