Job summary

A leading defense company is seeking a Vehicle Mechanic to maintain and repair vehicles supporting armed forces and emergency services. This full-time role is based in multiple locations near Beverley, and requires NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance along with experience in diagnostics and repair. Qualifications

Overview

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled and dedicated team maintaining and repairing the vehicles that support our armed forces and emergency services. From quad bikes to battle tanks, your work will directly contribute to national defence and public safety making this a career with real purpose and impact.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair vehicles to support national defence and public safety, including carrying out diagnostics, inspections and road tests as required.

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance
  • Preferred: Experience with military vehicles or specialist equipment
  • Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, inspection, and repair
  • Background in a dealership, garage, or military vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to conduct road tests and complete technical documentation
  • Strong commitment to safety and precision
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development
  • Ability to obtain BPSS and SC security clearance

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Leconfield, Catterick or Newcastle. You\'ll work 37 hours per week: Monday-Thursday (8 hours/day) and Friday (5 hours), with opportunities for overtime. Set working times are in place.
