The role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll undertake the servicing, repair, maintenance, and overhaul of vehicles and electrical equipment, including diagnostic and inspection duties. You’ll also carry out equipment examinations to meet production requirements.

Day to day, you’ll ensure work is completed to the required standard and specifications, following customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, process plans, and technical publications.

• Ensure stores and equipment issued to the job are used correctly.
• Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and associated mechanical/electrical equipment according to your skills and competency.
• Return un-used or faulty materials to the section/department Team Leader promptly.
• Create job cards and demand materials where ERP (SAP) training has been completed.
• Complete vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates/reports to current standards.

This position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods.

This role is full-time, based at our DSG Aldergrove site, typically working 37 hours per week: 7:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Thursday and 7:30am - 12:30pm Friday.

Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic

• Previous experience in a similar role is required
• Dealership or local garage experience

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
