Job summary

GBJ FedEx Express UK Transportation Limited is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician for the Milton site. You will service and repair the company fleet, ensuring vehicles and trailers are safe, legal, and fit for duties, while maintaining accurate service records.

Working hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with early/late shift options. The role includes preparing vehicles for MOT tests and performing defects investigations as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• LGV C&E license (class one) is required or desirable.
• Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components.
• Experience with welding and basic DC electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repair of the company fleet per maintenance schedules to keep vehicles and trailers safe and legal.
• Complete service and inspection records.
• Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing and ensure first-time pass.
• Investigate and rectify vehicle defects and perform ad-hoc repairs.

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at our vehicle maintenance unit at Milton as a Vehicle Maintenance Technician.

Working hours

40 hours per week

Shift

Monday - Friday 8.00 am to 4.30pm

Salary

£22.35 Per Hour

What you will be doing

• Performing service and repair of company fleet in line with planned maintenance schedules to ensure our vehicles and trailers are safe, legal and fit for duties


• Completing signed service and inspection records


• Completing defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements


• Preparing vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first time pass


• Performing ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects

What do you bring with you

• Your skill and applicable licenses our vocational training, e.g., LGV C&E license (class one)


• Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment


• Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components


• Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills


• Valid driving license
