Role Overview: As a Vehicle Radio Installation Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining radio communication systems within Blue Light vehicles. Your role will ensure that radio systems are operational, reliable, and meet performance standards. You will work closely with our customers and provide technical expertise throughout the installation process. Additionally, you will convert vehicles to customer specifications, inspect vehicles for condition and compliance, and ensure that the completed vehicle meets all required standards.

Primary Tasks

1. Install, configure, and test radio communication equipment.
2. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on radio systems to ensure optimal performance.
3. Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of radio systems.
4. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities.
5. Ensure all installations comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
6. Assist with upgrading and replacing radio systems as needed.
7. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Vehicle technology qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or ONC/HNC.
• Working knowledge of FCS1362.
• Experience in an automotive technical role, electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Full driving license.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
• Strong understanding of radio communication technologies and systems.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and troubleshooting software.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
