Job description

As a Copart Vehicle Image Damage Assessor, you will be responsible for preparing an engineer’s report on behalf of insurance companies.

You will check all documents containing information on physical damage, vehicle details, images, and other vital information, making necessary amendments as required.

Your duties include conducting market research to determine the vehicle's market value, considering factors such as mileage, previous damage, HPI data, and other relevant information. You will assign salvage categories using the ABI Code of Practice and adhere to company guidelines.

You must be aware of our Service Level Agreements and follow established processes to maintain them. Training will be provided for our internal report-writing systems.

This is a remote role, working from home, with occasional attendance at our Head Office or Operation Centre.

What we need from you:

• Membership or willingness to enroll in professional bodies such as MIMI, IAEA, or IRTE, with familiarity with insurance claims procedures and information requirements related to claim types.
• Ability to interpret vehicle damage and potential consequences, and experience with computerised repair estimating systems.
• Experience with motor vehicles, damage assessment, and repair methods.
• Knowledge of VDA standards.
• Proficiency with estimating and valuation tools like Glass’, CAP, Audatex, and HPI.
• Understanding of legal vehicle roadworthiness requirements under the Road Traffic Act.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
