A leading company in the automotive sector is seeking a Vehicle Emissions & EV Range Test Technician for a 12-month contract in Cranfield, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will conduct emissions testing, operate vehicle chassis dynamometers, and assist in evaluating vehicle performance data. Ideal applicants should have strong mechanical or electrical skills, a relevant Level 3 qualification, and proficiency in using diagnostics and emissions test systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Emissions/Test Systems such as Horiba or AVL.
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in engineering.
  • Practical mechanical/electrical expertise highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain vehicles for testing following specific procedures.
  • Support dynamic testing to gather accurate data.
  • Contribute to KPIs and liaise with Test Engineers.

Role: Vehicle Emissions & EV Range Test Technician

Location:

12 months

Rate:

up to £20.67 via PAYE

Job Description:

Scope of Work:

  • Vehicle Exhaust Emission & EV Range testing to meet current and future Legislative requirements
  • Vehicle Chassis Dynamometer operation
  • Drive Emissions test cycles to WLTP Standard
  • Real Drive Emissions on-road testing
  • Emissions analysis measurement
  • Understanding of vehicle disassembly, assembly, & maintenance techniques
  • Vehicle system knowledge with fault-finding abilities
  • Component measurement techniques and instrumentation setup
  • Use of vehicle diagnostic tools
  • Calibration of facilities & instrumentation

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain vehicles or components for testing according to procedures and Nissan Engineering Manuals
  • Support static and dynamic testing to gather accurate and timely data
  • Assist in evaluation and concern identification, liaising with Test Engineers
  • Contribute to Key Performance Indicators for the section
  • Provide support to other sections as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with Emissions/Test Systems such as Horiba or AVL
  • Level 3 qualification (C&G/BTEC) in mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering, preferably with a relevant apprenticeship or qualification
