FMG Repair Services in Gateshead is situated in the Team Valley, close to the A1 and local retail park, within easy commute of Newcastle, Durham, and the Metro Centre. Gateshead is one of our largest sites, with a great team of 12 technicians and 14 support colleagues.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join the UK’s leading Accident and Collision Repair specialist in our busy site in Gateshead.
As part of a team of professionals, you will undertake the physical inspection of damaged vehicles, assessing the full extent of the damage, costs of repair, and timeframes. An important aspect of this job is to identify the correct prescribed repair method and prepare, record, and maintain records of electronic and manual estimates. You will liaise effectively with insurance companies to obtain their authority to repair the vehicle at the estimated costs. You will also communicate with customers, engineers, and technicians to explain and ensure they understand the repair methodology. An understanding of Thatcham Repair Methods and BSi safety standards is essential.
The role involves assessing various vehicles, keeping up-to-date with repair methodologies, and understanding different insurers' and manufacturers' literature and bulletins. Teamwork is vital as you will collaborate with colleagues in the bodyshop and other departments. Your goal is to ensure vehicles are returned safely and efficiently.
Ideally, you are qualified to NVQ level 3/City & Guilds or ATA / IMI qualification with a solid Bodyshop background. A full UK driving license is required.
