Job summary

Palfinger UK is recruiting a Body Builder for our Production Workshop in Devizes. You will assemble and fit bodyworks from chassis upwards for a range of commercial vehicles, including cranes and bespoke bodies. The role starts with chassis prep and extends to complete body fabrication, using steel, alloy or GRP, with electrical integration as required.

We offer 39 hours per week, with overtime opportunities. Training and development are provided to progress within our expanding operation.

Qualifications

• Prior experience within vehicle body building.
• Fabrication & welding experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical fitting practices.
• Be able to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Work in state-of-the-art body building workshops building vehicle bodies from bare chassis to customer specifications.
• Fit body kits to a wide variety of commercial vehicles and fabricate components to attach to the bodywork.
• Build the bodywork exactly to specification using steel, alloy, GRP or cage-style sections and integrate electrical systems.

We are Palfinger UK. We’re the exclusive UK distributor for Palfinger Lorry Cranes and Epsilon Construction and Recycling Cranes. We’re also the UK’s largest national lorry crane provider that offers in-house assembly and bespoke body-building .

Our business is expanding and we’re looking to recruit a competent Body Builder for our Production Workshop based in Devizes.

Hours:

39 hours per week

08:00-16:30 Mon – Thursday

08:00 – 15:30 Friday

Additional overtime available

Key Duties will Include:

As a business we operate state-of-the-art body building workshops where our skilled technicians build any kind of vehicle body (from the bare chassis up), to suit our customer specifications.

You’ll be fitting body kits to a wide variety of commercial vehicles, (flat beds, drop sides, tippers etc.) to complement our crane fits. This will include fabricating components to attach to the bodywork.

We start with the chassis and build the bodywork exactly to specification. We can incorporate steel, alloy, GRP or cage-style drop side sections, safety rails, walkways, central stairs, water tanks, storage compartments, electrical systems and a whole range of specialist designs to meet individual requirements.

The Ideal Applicant:

Specialist product training is provided, however interested applicants will need to have:

• Prior experience within vehicle body building
• Fabrication & welding experience
• Knowledge of mechanical fitting practices
• Be able to read engineering drawings
