Job description

Our client who specialises in providing an excellent service to its customers in a very safe and compliant environment is looking for a Vehicle Banksman/Signaller to join their busy recycling centre on the outskirts of Portsmouth.

To be considered you must have previous Banksman and vehicle signalling experience and be willing to complete general site labouring work also.

PLEASE NOTE- Own Transport will be required due to location

Duties

Working in a small team in a recycling centre environment you will be skilled and competent at providing effective operational support to site management and traffic teams by

• Ensuring the traffic management policies and systems is rigidly enforced
• Controlling and directing vehicle movements on and around the site
• Liaising with company and third-party drivers
• Ensuring PPE is worn on site by all staff and visitors as required
• Ensuring that the site s rules are followed and adhered to by everyone
• Work with the Plant Operators to ensure the site is kept as clean and tidy as possible
• General Labourer manual tasks and duties around the site, as required.

Skills and Experience

• Traffic management and Banksman experience ESSENTIAL
• Knowledge of site health and safety and understands the importance of this - ESSENTIAL
• Hard working, conscientious and flexible to the hours required to work
• Very good communication skills
• Ability to work in a busy fast-paced environment

Hours

• Monday to Friday 7am 5pm (9.5hr days)
• PLUS, Alternate Saturday mornings 7am 12.30pm (Paid at time and a half)

Salary

Circa GBP34,200 Based on a whole year with alternate Saturday worked

• GBP12.77 hourly rate Monday to Friday
• GBP19.15 hourly rate Saturdays
