Job description

Job Title: Vegetation Management Operative

Location: Stanton Harcourt

Salary: Hourly rate dependent on qualifications and experience, discussed at interview.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, including day or night shifts, with occasional weekends.

About the role:

As a Vegetation Management Operative at Chevron Green Services (CGS), you will be part of a growing team, supporting your professional growth in a friendly, professional environment. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Cyclical grass cutting from March to October
  • Operating machinery such as tractors with flails, remote control bank mowers, ride-on mowers, and other specialist equipment
  • Weed control
  • Tree and hedge work, including hazardous tree removal, sign and CCTV clearance, and hedgerow maintenance outside bird nesting season
  • Path clearance
  • Planting schemes and complete de-vegetation of ditches and infrastructure
  • De-vegetation for new structures and roads
  • Jet washing
  • Other ad-hoc tasks for clients

You will work in a team under supervision to meet contractual standards.

Ideal candidate qualities:

  • No prior highway or vegetation management experience required, but beneficial
  • Basic understanding of health & safety
  • Physically capable and able to pass or already hold a Safety Critical Medical
  • Full UK driving license with less than 6 points
  • Enthusiastic 'can-do' attitude
