A leading utility company seeks six Vegetation Compliance Auditors to ensure compliance with their comprehensive vegetation management program across the South West, South Wales, and East Midlands. The role involves conducting audits, assessing vegetation hazards, and providing arboriculture advice. Applicants should have qualifications in arboriculture and experience in surveying, with a focus on safety and quality.
Job Introduction
We have opportunities available for Vegetation Compliance Auditors within our South West, South Wales and East Midlands licence area.
National Grid Electricity Distribution's (NGED) vegetation management program employs specialist utility arboriculture contractors to manage vegetation adjacent to its overhead network at all voltages from LV to 132kV. The program follows the principles set out in EREC G136 and is designed to ensure compliance with ESQCR 2006.
As part of developing a more consistent approach to vegetation management across the 4 NGED licence areas, the Vegetation Compliance Team is expanding. Six vacancies are available for Vegetation Compliance Auditors to join the existing team. One vacancy is to cover the East Midlands, two will cover South Wales and three are to cover the South West region.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vegetation Compliance Manager, the Vegetation Compliance Auditors will primarily be responsible for undertaking a range of safety and quality compliance audits on contractor teams and their work.
From time to time, other duties will include the assessment of vegetation related outage requests, the assessment and interpretation of tree failures in relation to unplanned outages, tree hazard identification & risk assessment, the assessment of one-off quotations for vegetation management works, and provision of expert arboriculture and forestry advice to NGED colleagues and stakeholders as and when required.
