Job Description:

We are one of the two Red Bull-owned Formula 1 Teams, driven by performance and excellence. We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Office. You will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components, tools, and jigs related to Gearbox, Hydraulic, and Exhaust systems, from initial layouts to detailed parts. You will also enhance design workflows and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the mechanical design process from concept to detailed design, ensuring innovative and high-performance solutions.
  • Ensuring all parts comply with FIA Formula 1 Technical Regulations.
  • Developing lightweight, reliable, and aerodynamically efficient components.
  • Collaborating with relevant departments to ensure reliability of designed parts.
  • Staying updated on materials science, manufacturing technologies, and industry advancements.

Team and Technical Guidance:

  • Acting as the technical reference within the group for task guidance.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Reviewing and approving final design releases.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Professionalism and Collaboration:

  • Working closely with the Design Team Leader and other departments to meet project goals.
  • Collaborating with Aerodynamics, Concept, Trackside Operations, and other teams for seamless integration.
  • Engaging with suppliers and external partners for quality materials and components.
  • Supporting race and track events from the Factory Operation Room as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Extensive experience in high-performance motorsport, preferably F1.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA or Siemens NX.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing, and structural analysis.
  • Experience with moulds, patterns, and tooling is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
