We are currently looking for an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Office. In this role, you will take ownership of the design and development of mechanical components, tools, and jigs related to Gearbox, Hydraulic, and Exhaust systems, from initial installation layouts to detailed part design. You will also play a pivotal role in enhancing our design workflows and mentoring junior team members.

Lead the mechanical design process from concept to detailed design of components and tooling, integrating innovative and high-performance solutions.
Ensure all designed parts comply with the FIA Formula 1 Technical Regulations.
Contribute to the development of lightweight, reliable, and aerodynamically efficient mechanical components.
Oversee the reliability aspects of designed parts in collaboration with relevant departments.
Stay up to date with materials science, manufacturing technologies, and motorsport industry advancements.
Act as the technical point of reference within the assigned group for task-related guidance.
Provide mentorship and support to junior mechanical design engineers.
Review and approve final design releases within the group, when required.
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the design function.
Work closely with the Mechanical Design Team Leader and Deputy to ensure alignment with project timelines and performance targets.
Collaborate effectively with departments such as Aerodynamics, Concept, Trackside Operations, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical solutions into the overall car design.
Foster strong communication and collaboration with all other internal departments.
Liaise with suppliers and external partners to secure the highest-quality materials and components.
Provide support during race and track events from the Factory Operation Room, as required.
Provide flexible attendance and attitude to work, both in line with the requirements of the role and any specific requirements of the projects.
University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly within high-performance motorsport environments, preferably F1.
Strong proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent design tools.
In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
Composite knowledge and competence in the design process of moulds, patterns, and tooling would be considered as a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and performance targets.
Strong initiative and a drive for innovation in engineering solutions.
A flexible, proactive, and can-do attitude.
Team-oriented mindset with a positive approach, able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
