Job Overview

Optegra Eye Health Care is seeking a VC trained Bank Optometrist to join our friendly and supportive team at our prestigious private Colchester eye hospital. This role offers flexible shifts on a zero-hour contract with pay up to £50 per hour, depending on experience.

The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team working alongside consultants, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting examinations related to refractive surgery, cataract, and medical retina procedures.
  2. Managing post-surgery clinics and documenting findings in electronic medical records.
  3. Providing health advice and support to patients.
  4. Offering first-line clinical advice and referring patients to medical practitioners when necessary.
  5. Ensuring proper use and safety of clinical equipment.
  6. Staying updated on CQC policies and mandatory training.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Current GOC registration as a qualified optometrist.
  • Extensive experience in refractive, high street, or hospital settings.
  • Proficiency with patient administration and electronic medical record systems.
  • Experience working towards KPIs and conversion targets within Vision Correction.
