Job description

Brewer Morris are working with a global organisation to support their hire of a new VAT Senior Manager. This role will be responsible for the EMEA VAT team based in the UK, offering a very hybrid working policy with largely remote working.

You will be responsible for managing a small indirect tax team, ensuring compliance deadlines are met, leading on all advisory, projects and VAT audits. It is essential that you have previous VAT cross-border experience across the EMEA jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the EMEA VAT team in the UK, managing and developing the VAT Accountants
  • Ensure VAT returns are prepared accurately and on time by the team and external advisors
  • Support the teams as required, to ensure accurate VAT reconciliations
  • Act as the key point of contact for all audit, external advisor and senior stakeholder queries
  • Advise on VAT implications of the cross-border movement of goods within the EMEA jurisdictions
  • Assist with projects such as VAT work-streams for mergers, intra-group trade transfers, system enhancements and integration, and the implementation of a global tax engine
  • Provide input for SAO reviews
Requirements
  • Fully, part-qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience within a high volume movement of goods business, advising on VAT cross-border implications within the EMEA regions
  • 10+ years experience within the VAT, covering UK and EMEA jurisdictions
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
