Job summary

BDO UK is seeking a VAT and PSA specialist to manage the firm’s VAT compliance across multiple entities. You’ll own returns, reconciliations and process improvements while collaborating with tax colleagues and senior management.

You’ll lead guidance on changes in VAT legislation, deliver targeted training, and support HMRC enquiries. A flexible, supportive culture and ongoing development opportunities await.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, written and verbal.
• Strong planning, time management and workload handling.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills; macros/VBA helpful.
• Professional tax qualification (ATT/CTA) expected.

Responsibilities

• Own VAT and PSA compliance for firm entities.
• Prepare, submit and settle VAT returns.
• Run GL reconciliations and maintain processes.
• Support HMRC enquiries, audits and SAO reviews.
• Develop training and guidance on VAT/PSA requirements.
• Identify compliance risks and escalate as needed.
