A leading accountancy firm in London is seeking a VAT Manager to join their team. In this role, you will prepare and review complex VAT returns, advise clients on VAT-related queries, and work closely with senior leaders for professional development. Candidates should have strong VAT experience and ideally hold a relevant qualification. This position also offers a hybrid working model, enabling a balance between office and remote work.

Overview

Do you see yourself as someone who could be a specialist advisor to SME businesses, in need of VAT advice and help?

This Top 30 firm are a market leader within the SME space, working with businesses from all sectors on Audit, Tax and Accounting matters – and are now in need of a VAT Manager for their London office. You will join an established team with great experience at the helm, as they look to expand headcount owing to recent client wins increasing the workload.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review complex VAT returns and annual adjustments
  • Offer advice to clients on various VAT areas such as VAT treatment of transactions, place of supply of services queries, contract reviews
  • Advise on property issues, including new builds, building works, capital goods scheme, option to tax, sales (and TOGCs), and cost issues
  • Respond to questions from clients and team members on a range of issues
Requirements
  • Strong VAT experience across various technical and complex areas
  • Ideally hold a relevant qualification (CTA, AIIT), though Qualified by Experience can be considered
  • Ability to work and liaise with HMRC on Tax Dispute issues
