Job summary

HireIQ in Cambridge is seeking a VAT Assistant Manager to join a leading independent accountancy and advisory firm.

You will work with a highly experienced VAT team on a broad mix of advisory work and technical projects, with clear progression and mentoring.

This hybrid role offers excellent work/life balance and exposure to complex advisory assignments, with opportunities to develop client relationships across a varied portfolio.

Qualifications

• ATT qualified (or equivalent) with VAT experience gained in professional practice.
• CTA qualified or studying towards CTA would be advantageous.
• Strong technical VAT knowledge and advisory experience.
• Commercially aware with an interest in developing client relationships.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Able to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Providing VAT advice to a varied client portfolio and internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the delivery of complex advisory and technical assignments.
• Liaising with clients, HMRC and colleagues across the wider firm.
• Identifying planning opportunities and supporting business development activities.
• Maintaining high technical and client service standards.
• Managing multiple assignments and meeting key deadlines.

About the Job

Working closely with senior members of the VAT team, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing VAT advice to a varied client portfolio and internal stakeholders
