Job summary

cer Financial is recruiting a VAT Manager in London to lead VAT advisory for a range of clients, including finance, insurance, fintech, property and retail. You will manage client relationships, guide complex VAT matters and drive profitable delivery.

Qualifications

• VAT advisory experience in practice required.
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT principles and legislation.
• Experience advising corporates and owner-managed businesses on VAT.
• Excellent written reports and attention to detail.
• Ability to explain VAT clearly to non-specialists.
• Strong client management and commercial acumen.
• ACA/CA/CTA or equivalent desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of VAT clients across sectors.
• Provide VAT advisory on restructurings, transactions, HMRC disputes and cross-border matters.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional advisory work.
• Prepare and review VAT reports, due diligence and complex VAT returns.
• Manage WIP, billing and fee proposals to ensure profitable client delivery.
• Review junior team members’ work and provide technical guidance.
• Support tenders, audit assignments and staff training.
• Manage direct reports where required.
