Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Surgeon in Vascular Services to join a cross-site team across Basildon, Broomfield and Southend. The role involves 10 PAs per week, outpatient clinics and day case theatre lists with on-call duties across Basildon Hospital.

The successful candidate will manage urgent vascular cases, contribute to the hot clinic, urgent pathways and ongoing audits within the department, in a busy NHS setting.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM 2 YEARS NHS EXPERIENCE AS A VASCULAR CONSULTANT
• ACTIVE NHS VASCULAR ON CALL EXPERIENCE
• 3 YEARS NHS EXPERIENCE
• Recently qualified Consultants
• GMC REGISTRATION
• GMC REGISTRATION

Responsibilities

• Provide vascular surgery service with prevention, diagnosis and treatment in conjunction with other consultants
• Participate in weekly Multidisciplinary Team meetings at Basildon in the Vascular Hub
• Undertake outpatients clinics and day case theatre lists across Basildon and other sites as required
• Share on-call duties on a 1:10 rotation covering Basildon Hospital
• Support urgent care pathways and audit processes within Vascular Services
