Job summary

ANT Recruitment is seeking a qualified Vehicle Mechanic/Fitter to maintain vans, pickups, and light company vehicles in a mixed workshop. The role focuses on routine servicing, reliable diagnosis, and repairs in a day-to-day setting with the wider fleet team.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 LV technician qualifications, hands-on experience with vans/pickups, a methodical diagnostic approach, and a full UK driving licence. Expect 40-hour weeks with overtime and a probationary period.

Qualifications

• Qualified light-vehicle technician with LV servicing and repair experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine inspections, servicing and pre-MOT preparation on light vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and relevant electrical faults.
• Use service information and appropriate diagnostic methods to identify the cause of defects.
• Record repairs, checks and outstanding work clearly.
• Raise safety defects and communicate when a vehicle should remain unavailable.
• Coordinate daily priorities with the workshop manager and support colleagues within your competence.
• Maintain an orderly work area and apply safe workshop procedures.
• Identify unfamiliar systems or tasks that require training or technical support.
