Job summary

Severn Trent Water is seeking a Van Pack Operative to join our Waste Customer Networks team covering the Wolverhampton region from our Barnhurst site. You’ll be resolving sewer issues using vacuum, jetting and blockage clearing equipment while interacting with customers to deliver high-quality service.

The role includes weekends and evenings on a rotating shift, some on-call work, and requires a C1 or above license.

Qualifications

• C1 or above license required.
• Commitment to right-first-time service with attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, able to work as part of a team with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to build strong relationships with customers.
• Good organisational skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Resolve issues for customers using vacuum, jetting and blockage clearing equipment.
• Carrying out CCTV surveys to diagnose drainage problems.
• Liaise with control centre, operations and maintenance teams.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Operate and maintain vehicles in line with policy and road transport regulations.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We have a new opportunity to join Severn Trent’s Waste Customer Networks team covering ourWolverhampton region from our Barnhurst site! This team is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, improvements, and repair of our amazing waste network.

The VanPack Operative role will require you to be responsible for resolving various issues and offering our customers fantastic service when they need you the most.You’ll be working within our communities, focusing on resolving issues such as blocked sewers, using an array of impressive vacuum, jetting and blockage clearing equipment.The role works on a shift pattern which will involveome working on weekends and evenings on a rotating shift pattern, including on call/ standby.

Other things you may be involved in are:

• Carrying out CCTV surveysof drainage systems to maintain, diagnose and determine the most appropriate solution.
• Liaising with other departments including our control centre, operations, and maintenance.
• Working within confined spaces and working at heights.
• Operating your vehicle in compliance with road transport legislation and Severn Trent policies and procedures.
• Ensuring vehicles are maintained in a clean & roadworthy condition both internally and externally.

• It is necessary to hold a C1 or above license.
