Van Driver / Workshop Operative / Welding

Berry Recruitment is actively seeking a temporary full-time van driver who is also prepared to undertake workshop work. This position is for approximately 2-3 months to cover sickness.

The ideal candidate will have workshop experience or the ability to perform basic mechanical tasks, equipment cleaning, and preparation for rehire. The role involves being a workshop assistant/second driver. Skills in TIG welding and mild steel MIG welding are beneficial, but some workshop or mechanical experience is essential. Candidates must be able to drive a 3.5t flatbed vehicle. A forklift license is preferred, but evidence of forklift operation is acceptable.

The workshop aspect of the role offers training opportunities for the right candidate who is willing to learn. Compensation will depend on experience with driving, welding, and workshop work, and will be discussed at interview.

The main responsibilities include delivering to clients across the East Anglia region, with workshop support as needed.

Working hours are from 08:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. The location is on the outskirts of Kings Lynn, so reliable transport is essential.

Excellent written and spoken communication skills are required due to customer interactions during deliveries. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license with no more than 6 points. No convictions related to DDR or drug driving will be considered.

For further information, please contact Charlie at Berry Recruitment or submit a CV for consideration. This advert is non-discriminatory and evaluates candidates solely on merit, qualifications, and ability.
