Berry Recruitment in Exeter are working with a leading Food provider in the south of our region who are seeking several Van Drivers . These are ongoing positions and could eventually lead to permanent positions for the right candidates.

As a Van Driver you job role will be as follows:

  • Delivery of Ambient, Chilled and Frozen food products along with Catering Equipment products to multiple customer locations which may vary each day in a timely and professional manner.
  • Load and deliver Customer orders within food safety standards to the correct location as detailed on delivery notes and route ordering allowing for any timed drops or other irregularities.
  • Full compliance with security including vehicle and necessary equipment checks, paperwork and fuel cards are on board prior to leaving the depot for the day’s journey.
  • While at the customer’s premises ensure all goods are unloaded safely, efficiently and always in a considerate and polite fashion taking into account the care and attention for the general public at all times.
  • Liaising with our customers to complete delivery documentation and to collect cash while ensuring its security.
  • Control and return any stock and pallets to their correct places after debrief in a timely and tidy manner.

To be considered for the Van Driver role based near Plymouth you should have the following:

  • Driving licence (Cat C1 up to 7.5 tonne cat B1 to 3.5 tonne)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Physically fit
  • Numeracy and literature
  • Basic IT literacy
  • You will have experience working in multi-temperature distribution
  • You are a team player
  • Ability to work alone

This position is offering an hourly rate of £12.34 and will cover 40 hours a week.
