Van Driver (130jc) Boston, Lincolnshire - GBP12.86 per hour

As a driver, you act as an ambassador for the company; your driving and behavior are scrutinized by customers and the public. The company expects high standards of driving and conduct at all times. Drivers must treat vehicles with care, ensuring roadworthiness and hygiene standards are maintained. Opportunities for personal development and skill enhancement are encouraged.

Van Driver Key Duties

  • Comply with all relevant driving, traffic, and vehicle regulations.
  • Drive professionally, courteously, and safely, avoiding damage to vehicles and property.
  • Maintain legal compliance records, including Working Time directive, and report any endorsements.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
  • Keep vehicles hygienic and well-maintained.
  • Load and secure products safely, ensuring they remain secure during delivery.

Customer Service

  • Act professionally and courteously with customers, handling queries efficiently.
  • Wear the prescribed uniform in good condition.
  • Maintain records as per company procedures.
  • Manage cash and cheques accurately, responsible for discrepancies.

Key Skills

  • Full Cat B driving license and relevant experience.
  • Physical fitness to perform delivery duties.
  • Trustworthy and numerate.
  • Good written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive and effective communicator.

You will work any 5 out of 6 days, based on 40 hours weekly, often exceeding this during busy periods. Overtime is paid at the basic hourly rate, with peak periods around events like Valentine's, Mother’s Day, summer, and Christmas, offering plenty of overtime opportunities.

With the basic hourly rate, you will earn GBP26,750 annually, potentially exceeding GBP34,000 with overtime, plus training opportunities for Class 1 or 2 driving.
