People Solutions are currently recruiting for a day Van Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, WEST MIDLANDS.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering room to grow and progress.

This role will be ongoing for the right candidate.

Day to Day Duties

• Load coffins onto the van each morning with assistance from warehouse staff
• Deliver coffins to funeral directors across assigned routes, including occasional long-distance runs (e.g. London)
• Assist with unloading when required (note: most funeral directors will manage this themselves)
• Obtain signed delivery notes at each location and return them to the office daily
• Inspect deliveries and clearly note any damaged items on the delivery note for office follow-up
• Contact funeral directors one hour before delivery, as required
• Maintain respectful conduct at all times, recognising the sensitive nature of the business
• Be prepared to encounter deceased individuals as part of normal operations
• Ensure all deliveries are conducted safely, efficiently, and with care
• Full UK Category B driving licence with a clean record
• Good working knowledge of the West Midlands road network
• Physically fit and able to assist with manual handling as needed
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changes in scheduling
• Comfortable working in an environment where deceased individuals may be present
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Previous experience in funeral, medical, or sensitive logistics industries
• Knowledge of proper handling and documentation procedures for high-value goods
