Job summary

Driver Hire East Kilbride is recruiting for a Van Driver / Removals Operative in Uddingston. The role involves driving a company van to homes and businesses, helping with removals and loading/unloading goods.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with occasional Saturdays and potential overtime. A permanent position may follow after 13 weeks, with the possibility to obtain a Class 2 licence later on.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Previous van driving experience preferred.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and manual handling.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive a company van to residential and commercial locations.
• Assist with house and office removals.
• Load and unload furniture and appliances.
• Ensure items are transported safely and securely.
• Provide excellent customer service at customers' homes.

Van Driver / Removals Operative

Uddingston | Temp to Perm Opportunity | £12.71 per hour

Driver Hire is currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Uddingston for a reliable and hardworking Van Driver / Removals Operative.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy removals company with the chance of securing a permanent position after 13 weeks. Once permanent, there is also the opportunity to be put through your Class 2 (Category C) licence, offering excellent long-term career progression.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday (occassional Saturdays)
• 8:00am - 4:30pm
• Due to the nature of home removals, finish times can vary and shifts may extend beyond scheduled hours
• Candidates must be flexible and available to work occasional Saturdays when required
• Overtime available

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a company van to residential and commercial locations

Candidate Requirements

• Must be able to pass a DBS check
• Must be flexible and available for occasional Saturday working

Pay & Benefits

• £12.71 per hour
• Pay increase after successful completion of the 13-week temp-to-perm period
