Position Overview

Job Title: Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative

Location: Southampton

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Temp-to-Perm (transition into a permanent full-time role based on performance)

Payment: Weekly (every Friday)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 08:30 AM – 17:30 PM

Every Other Saturday: 08:00 AM – 12:00 PM

About The Role

This is a hybrid role that blends delivery driving responsibilities with hands-on warehouse duties. The variety within the position keeps each day interesting and ensures you're always learning something new. You'll be expected to complete up to 15 deliveries per day, split into two runs — one in the morning and another in the afternoon — while also supporting the warehouse with daily operations such as order picking, stock control, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Driving:

• Efficient and Safe Delivery: Deliver goods promptly and safely to multiple customer locations each day. You'll be handling a range of products, so attention to detail and care in handling is essential.
• Company Vehicle Provided: You'll be given a company van for deliveries. It must be driven responsibly, and basic checks and cleanliness are expected to ensure it's always roadworthy.
• Route Planning: Use your initiative and time management skills to plan routes efficiently, allowing you to complete both delivery runs on time.

Warehouse Operative Tasks

• Order Picking and Packing: Assist in preparing orders by accurately picking, packing, and labeling items to ensure they are ready for dispatch.
• Stock Management: Help maintain stock levels, organize products, and ensure items are stored securely and correctly.
• Loading Vans: Load goods into the van efficiently to allow for easy access during deliveries and reduce unnecessary handling.
• General Warehouse Duties: Maintain a clean and safe work area, assist with inventory checks, and support the team with various tasks as needed.

• Driving License: A valid UK manual driving license is essential, as you will be required to drive the company van for deliveries.
• Punctuality and Time Management: You must be reliable and able to manage your time effectively. Both warehouse and delivery responsibilities come with tight deadlines.
• Physical Fitness: The role involves manual handling, lifting, and moving products of varying sizes, so a good level of physical fitness is necessary.
