3.5t Van Driver – Exeter, Devon

Pay: £12.24 per hour. Hours: 45 hours per week – Tuesday to Saturday (08:00–18:30) or Monday to Friday (08:00–18:30) with an on-call rota.

About the Role

gap personnel are recruiting for a 3.5t Van Driver to join a dedicated service team in Exeter, Devon. This is a hands-on, rewarding role that makes a real difference to people’s lives by providing essential healthcare equipment to support independent living.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install, collect, service, and repair community equipment in people’s homes, care homes, schools, and hospitals across Devon.
• Handle equipment ranging from walking frames and crutches to hoists, beds, and pressure care products.
• Carry out minor home adaptations, such as installing handrails and grab rails, as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
• Full UK driving licence (held for at least 2 years, no more than 6 points).
• Ability to load and unload goods – some items may be heavy.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic DIY skills (advantageous for home adaptations).
• Previous van driving experience beneficial.
• Flexibility to be part of a same day and out-of-hours rota, including some weekend cover.
