Job summary

Euro Auctions Group is seeking a motivated Valeting Operative to join our yard team in Kellington. The role is outdoor, requires physical fitness and the ability to climb on and off heavy machinery during auctions.

You will clean, present and prepare plant and machinery, load and unload equipment, and help organise the yard for each sale; overtime is common during busy periods, and previous heavy equipment experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Active outdoor role requiring ability to operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks.
• Must be physically fit to climb on/off machinery and work in all weathers.
• Knowledge of heavy plant/mining/quarry equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean interior and exterior of plant and machinery to a high standard.
• Assist staff in organising and preparing the yard for each sale.
• Load and unload machinery as required for auctions.
• Present machines for sale and ensure readiness for viewing.

Valeting Operative

Reporting To: Workshop Manager

Location: Roall Ln, Kellington, DN14 0NY.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm & 1 out of 6 weekends.

Euro Auctions conducts unreserved auctions of industrial plant, construction equipment and agricultural machinery on a global basis with sites in the UK, Europe, UAE, Australia, US and Canada. We are the market leader in Europe, holding more sales and selling more lots per sale than any other auction house.

Key Activities:

• Cleaning the interior and exterior of a variety of plant and machinery.
• Ensure all machines are presented to a high standard.
• Assisting other staff in organising and preparing the yard for each sale.
• Loading and unloading of machinery.

About the role

The Person:

This role is an active, outdoor job and requires someone with the ability to operate all types of heavy equipment and trucks. You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers as well as being physically fit to climb on and off machinery. If you have a knowledge of heavy plant/mining/quarry equipment, then we especially want to hear from you.

The Requirements

Essential Criteria:

• We are looking for motivated, highly organised people who love a challenge and are not averse to a hard day's graft.
• Ability to take instruction as well as work on own initiative and follow Health & Safety legislation.
• Willingness to work regular overtime during busy auction periods.
• Prior experience operating and knowledge of all types of heavy equipment.
• Strong English skills

Desirable Criteria:

• 1 years valeting experience.
• A Forklift operator's certificate.
