Job summary

Arnold Clark Group is hiring a Valeter for our Motorstore in Preston. You will ensure vehicles are presented to a high standard, perform exterior cleaning with a power washer, interior shampooing, and use buffing equipment. Training is provided, with a focus on safety and team collaboration.

The role supports a busy branch, with full-time hours and opportunity for progression. Overtime and benefits are highlighted in the package.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Clean exteriors with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo vehicle interiors.
• Use a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork.
• Follow health and safety procedures with chemicals.
• Maintain equipment and report defects when needed.
• Meet daily targets and manage vehicle schedule.
• Attend Valet Academy training and development.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Valeter to join our Motorstore in Preston.

Hours

Full time: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm, Friday 8am - 4.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am - 12pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in sparkling condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Using an online diary system to manage vehicle schedule
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential skills

• Full UK driving licence.

• Willingness to participate in training programmes.

Valet experience is preferred but not essential, training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
