Job summary

Arnold Clark Group in Accrington is seeking a motivated Valeter to ensure vehicles are presented to a sparkling standard. The role suits someone who enjoys a physical, active environment and works well in a team.

You will clean both sold and stock vehicles, use a high-powered pressure washer externally, vacuum and shampoo interiors, and polish bodywork. Training is available through the Valet Academy.

Qualifications

• Valet experience preferred but not essential.
• Training can be provided; attendance at Valet Academy.
• Must have a Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Clean sold and stock vehicles to a high standard.
• Exterior cleaning with a high-powered pressure washer.
• Vacuum and shampoo interiors with a high-powered vacuum.
• Polish/buff bodywork using a polishing/buffing machine.
• Follow health and safety procedures when working with chemicals.
• Maintain and report defects of equipment; comply with PPE.
• Manage vehicle schedule via online diary system.
• Complete a daily record of work performed.
• Support the branch with other duties as required.

Hours

Full time: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:30am – 6pm and Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am – 5:30pm

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Valeter, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all our vehicles are presented in sparkling condition.

This position will be a perfect fit for someone who enjoys working in an active, physical role, has meticulous attention to detail and is a fantastic team player.

Day-to-day duties

• Cleaning sold and stock vehicles to a high standard
• Cleaning vehicles externally with a high-powered pressure washer
• Using a high-powered vacuum to clean and shampoo vehicle interiors
• Working with a polishing/buffing machine to enhance bodywork
• Complying with health and safety procedures while working with chemicals
• Making sure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and secure at all times, reporting any defects and complying with manufacturers’ instructions and PPE recommendations
• Working to set timeframes and targets
• Using an online diary system to manage vehicle schedule
• Completing a daily record of work completed
• Other duties to support the branch as required

Essential skills

Valet experience is preferred but not essential, training can be provided for a candidate who demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm and the other required criteria. Arnold Clark also operates a Valet Academy which all new valet staff will attend.
