Job summary

Pertemps are recruiting Test Engineers on behalf of Edwards Vacuum in Clevedon. You will test, validate and fault-find advanced vacuum systems, carrying out functional and performance testing to ensure products meet quality standards before delivery.

You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams, contributing to new product introductions and continuous improvements while maintaining high reliability and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in an engineering test, manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with fault finding and problem solving.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to analyse technical information and test results.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience testing mechanical, electrical or vacuum systems would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of pressure testing, leak testing or vacuum technology would be beneficial.
• Experience using test equipment and measurement instrumentation would be desirable.
• Experience with data analysis or automated test systems would be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and controls would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out functional and performance testing of vacuum systems and assemblies.
• Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Perform fault finding and diagnose mechanical, electrical and system issues.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Record, analyse and report test results accurately.
• Complete test procedures and documentation in line with company standards.
• Support product validation and qualification activities.
• Identify root causes of failures and support corrective actions.
• Assist with improvements to test methods, processes and equipment.
• Ensure products meet quality, safety and performance requirements.
• Support investigations into product issues and non-conformances.
