NHS Property Services (NHSPS) is dedicated to enabling excellent patient care by serving as a trusted property advisor to the NHS. We are committed to providing the best estate solutions, ensuring that our healthcare facilities are optimised for efficiency and effectiveness.

We proudly manage a diverse portfolio of 2,700 properties across England, catering to the needs of 6,300 customers. This extensive portfolio represents approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from historic listed buildings to state-of-the-art integrated care centres, encompassing hospitals, GP practices, and administrative offices.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Vacant Space Lettings Manager, this role will be flexible working from home.

This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

About the role:

This role is responsible for delivering the end-to-end process managing lettings designed to reduce vacant space within the NHSPS portfolio and to support ICB and other customers to reduce the amount of vacant space they hold. They work to identify and attract potential tenants, negotiate lease agreements, and ensure that all vacant spaces are effectively marketed and maintained. They will work closely with various teams to identify units for marketing, agreeing on strategies for letting, and support customers with marketing their space under the NHSPS value proposition.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Holds or is working towards Chartered Membership or Fellow of RICS or RTPI
  • Degree or equivalent experience in commercial real estate
  • The drive and commitment to support the NHS to reduce its exposure to cost by delivering new lettings of vacant space
  • Good experience of the healthcare market to identify organisations who aspire to deliver their services from an NHS property
  • Strong commercial property acumen and tenacity which will secure the best terms available for new lettings
  • The ability to identify, engage and manage a range of external suppliers who share our values and hold the correct skill sets to deliver on our requirements
  • Good knowledge of different ways that the opportunity to occupy our properties can be promoted, including the use of digital technology
  • Strong ability to prepare concise reports and requests for approval, backed up with clear recommendations as to why each proposed new letting will deliver value to the NHS
