Cambridge University Libraries have launched an exciting five-year Digital Preservation Programme to establish a new Digital Preservation Service.
Based at the main University Library, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to a pioneering initiative that aims to manage digital collections sustainably for the future, enhancing user experience and maximizing access to valuable digital assets.
The Digital Preservation Service will support digital materials from acquisition to access, ensuring ongoing availability of culturally and historically significant collections, including digitized images, research publications, data, and born-digital archives.
The programme encompasses cloud-native and open-source services to maintain access and develop tools for digital deposit, search, discovery, and use.
The Technical Analyst will be part of the Digital Preservation team, collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders, including academics and collections staff.
This role involves establishing digital services such as transferring data from handheld storage devices, supporting the creation of the CUL Digital Preservation Lab, and preparing digital materials for preservation workflows.
