Job summary

A governmental archival project in London is seeking two Archivists to join the Digital Archive Relocation Project. You will ensure catalogue data and digital records are prepared for their migration to The National Archives (TNA). The roles offer flexible working opportunities and require experience in managing digital archives. Solid knowledge of Preservica and Axiell CALM is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing digital archives and data migration.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure catalogue data and digital records are prepared for migration.
  • Take responsibility for managing digital archives systems.

The Parliamentary Archives in is the process of relocating from Westminster to The National Archives (TNA) in Kew. The move of our physical collections is well underway, and we're now working on the transfer of our digital data. This includes born-digital and digitised records, catalogue metadata relating to our physical and digital holdings, and other digital and web content.

We are looking for 2 Archivists to join the Digital Archive Relocation Project in our Parliamentary Archives Office at House of Lords. This is a position where you will undertake work on ensuring catalogue data and digital records held in Parliamentary Archives systems are sufficiently prepared for their migration and transfer to TNA. These roles will work closely together, whilst each taking overall responsibility for one of the Parliamentary Archives’ two main systems for preserving and managing our collections – Preservica (Enterprise Edition) and Axiell CALM.
