Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Improvement Engineering Lead to drive product and process enhancements on a 6?12 month contract based in Samlesbury. The role focuses on leading RCCA-driven improvements across airframe manufacturing, analysing non-conformances, and coordinating with Engineering Design to optimise product engineering.

The position is onsite. The candidate will apply DMAIC/8D methodologies, review CAD/PLM data, and work with Manufacturing, Quality and Operations to deliver robust

Responsibilities

• Lead product improvement projects ensuring design intent is met in manufacture of airframe products using RCCA tools.
• Perform detailed analysis of inspection and non-conformance data to support RCCA.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Operations to formulate RCCA plans.
• Review engineering data (CAD, PLM, drawings) to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate with Engineering Design teams to optimise Product Engineering when needed.

Improvement Engineering Lead

Contract: 6 months

RATE: £41.06 per hour inside IR35 umbrella

Location: Samlesbury

The role:

• Leading product improvement projects, ensuring that design intent can be met in the manufacture of airframe products through Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) tools and techniques.
• Detailed product analysis of inspection and non-conformance data to support RCCA.
• Working alongside manufacturing business teams (Engineering, Quality and Operations etc.) to formulate robust RCCA plans.
• Reviewing and interrogation of Product Engineering data (CAD, Plannings, PLM, Product and Tooling drawings etc.) to define improvement opportunities.
• Liaising with Engineering Design teams to optimised Product Engineering when and where required.

Experience:

Essential:

• Experience of complex problem solving, process improvement tools and techniques (e.g. DMAIC, 8D).
• Ability to analyse data to solve complex problems and communicate solutions.
• Ability to innovate and develop and propose new process / product solutions.

Desirable:

• Six Sigma practitioner - Green belt level or higher.
• Experience of using PLM, MES (Product Life-cycle management, Manufacturing Execution Systems (e.g. Teamcenter & SAPCAMS).
• Good project management skills and ability to work at pace supporting customer needs.
