Job summary

ANGLO is seeking EFL teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons for teenage students, following the ANGLO syllabus and a communicative approach.

You will work with the teaching team, prepare weekly schemes of work, keep attendance, provide feedback, and support cultural activities and excursions to create an inclusive learning environment.

The role includes residential sessions, long hours on programme, and pay per 14-night cycle with induction and CPD provision.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to ANGLO teenage students.
• Liaise with Teaching Manager/ WTS on teaching and student matters.
• Plan classes, mark work, select suitable materials, and complete schemes of work.
• Maintain attendance registers and report absences.
• Follow Teacher Manual guidelines and attend CPD sessions.
• Prepare students for presentations, excursions, and cultural visits.
• Provide timely feedback and complete academic reports.

ANGLO sessions promote the communicative approach with emphasis on speaking and listening skills. An overview of the role follows: Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of ANGLO teenage students Work closely with colleagues in the teaching team to deliver the ANGLO experience Embrace the communicative approach to language teaching and create an engaging, inclusive learning environment in language lessons, excursion lessons and project lessons.

Your role & responsibilities

• Liaising with the Teaching Manager and/or WTS with regards to all relevant teaching and student matters
• Teaching levels and course types as directed by the TM/WTS, planning all classes sufficiently and marking students’ work
• Selecting appropriate supplementary materials demonstrating sensitivity to the students’ needs and cultural backgrounds
• Completing a weekly scheme of work
• Completing attendance registers accurately and reporting any absence or sickness to the TM/ATM at the beginning of each lesson
• Being familiar with, and following guidelines outlined in the Teacher Manual
• Attending and participating in teacher briefings, meetings and CPD sessions when required
• Ensuring students are prepared for presentations, excursions, and cultural visits
• Responding to any issues, incidents and/or complaints in an appropriate and timely manner; ensuring that the Teaching Manager is informed as required
• Exploiting every opportunity for students to learn English both inside and outside the classroom
• Creating a positive learning environment which is well-organised and supports the introduction of British culture as part of the curriculum
• Providing students with adequate feedback on their work
• Accurately completing the students’ academic reports
• Following ANGLO’s safeguarding and welfare policies at all times
• Demonstrating a high level of professionalism at all times

Requirements

Essential (Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements)

• You have the right to work in the UK
• University degree + TEFLI qualification or equivalent experience (e.g.: CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, PGCE, 120 hour TEFL course)
• Native or near-native English fluency
• Dynamic teaching approach
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team player attitude
• Commitment to high-quality customer service, displaying a positive “can-do” attitude
• Ability to work under pressure, strong work ethic and ability to implement change
• Committed to continuing professional development

Desirable

• Prior experience of teaching U18s
• Young Learners teaching qualification
• Summer school experience
• Experience of project-based courses and/or task-based learning
• Experience of Trinity GESE exams

Benefits

• Bed & Board: Residential: Full bed and board is provided
• Hours: 72 hours per 14-night student programme, plus one 6-hour paid induction and two 1-hour CPD sessions on campus. No overtime payment unless agreed in advance with Head Office.
• On rare occasions we have to offer 14-night 36 hour programmes, in which case hours and remuneration are halved. We will always let you know if this happens.
• Pay: £1,174.05 per 14-night student programme including holiday pay Plus 8-hour induction/CPD package
