Opus Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a Senior UX/Interaction Designer for a 6-month contract (Inside IR35). The role is based in Newcastle/Manchester with hybrid working.

You will design intuitive, accessible digital services within an Agile, multidisciplinary team and lead end-to-end UX design from discovery through delivery. Qualifications

• Experience as Senior UX Designer, Interaction Designer, or Product Designer.
• Strong track record designing complex digital services and user experiences.
• Experience in Agile delivery teams.
• Proficiency creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with user research and usability testing.

Responsabilités

• Lead end-to-end design of user experiences across digital products and services.
• Create user journeys, process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs.
• Support usability testing and translate insights into improvements.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, BAs, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gather requirements and validate solutions.
• Ensure designs meet accessibility and WCAG standards.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems and UX best practices.
• Communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support and mentor other designers as needed.

Role: UX Interaction Designer

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior UX / Interaction Designer to join a major digital transformation programme. You will play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centred digital services, working within a multidisciplinary Agile team to deliver high-quality user experiences from discovery through to delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who is passionate about solving complex user problems, influencing product direction, and championing best-practice UX design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of end-to-end user experiences across digital products and services.
• Create user journeys, process flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction designs.
• Conduct and support usability testing, translating insights into actionable improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, User Researchers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and design sessions to gather requirements and validate solutions.
• Ensure all designs meet accessibility and inclusive design standards.
• Contribute to and maintain design systems and UX best practices.
• Communicate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support and mentor other designers where required.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Senior UX Designer, Interaction Designer, or Product Designer.
• Strong track record designing complex digital services and user experiences.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Demonstrable experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience conducting or working alongside user research and usability testing activities.
• Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints.

Desirable

• Experience working within Central Government, Public Sector, or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of the GOV.UK Design System and GDS standards.
• Experience contributing to enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes.
• Familiarity with Service Design principles.
• Previous experience mentoring or coaching designers.

To be considered, you must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC) and willing to undertake occasional travel to Newcastle or Manchester when required.
