Job description

We're looking for an experienced User Experience Designer to join our Credit Cards design team in Chester (will also consider Manchester). This is a unique opportunity to define and enhance the journeys in which we engage and build relationships with our business customers, while supporting them with the right products, tools, and services to meet their needs.

We're seeking someone who can work collaboratively alongside a full design team and take full ownership of their design output. The ideal candidate will be confident when presenting their work to stakeholders and able to adapt designs based on feedback from stakeholders, user research, and usability testing. As a UX Designer, your role will include:

  1. Crafting end-to-end user experiences, creating cohesive journey steps by creatively using components from a central design system to balance content and UI elements.
  2. Bringing designs to life using prototyping software such as Sketch, InVision, Figma, Axure, or Adobe XD.
  3. Balancing business requirements with user needs by gathering research and rationale to align stakeholders and advocating for customer-centric solutions.
  4. Adapting to technical constraints across platforms while guiding the creation of optimal user experiences.
  5. Promoting customer inclusion by designing accessible and inclusive products for users of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
  6. Demonstrating experience in User Experience or Interaction Design, with strong prototyping and layout skills.
  7. Taking full ownership of interaction design projects and effectively communicating with developers to ensure designs meet specifications and are usable by a broad audience.
  8. Using existing design systems proactively and recommending improvements to benefit projects and other designers.
  9. Interpreting quantitative and qualitative research to inform design decisions, supported by dedicated user research teams.
  10. Having experience in complex landscapes, ideally within financial services.
  11. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and seeing designs through to delivery.
