We are seeking an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Practitioner to help set up our own residential children’s home within the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. This is an exciting opportunity to join the local authority as we establish a residential service to support children and young people in our care.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be key in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people. Your role will include supporting their emotional and social development, managing challenging behaviour, and understanding early childhood trauma and its impact.

The senior position involves supporting the management team and guiding staff based on your experience. You will help build a cohesive team dedicated to providing excellent care.

Applicants must hold the Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification.

The role requires working on a 24-hour basis with some sleep-in shifts on a rota basis.
